SCV SHERIFF ALERTS is an e-mail message and web posting service that seeks to offer timely notification of incidents critical to public safety in the Santa Clarita Valley. This new notification protocol will be infrequently used and will not be used for standard daily news releases or crime reports, for latest local news information visit our News Room or Local News Resources.
SCV SHERIFF ALERTS will be used, in addition to other alert systems, to notify those who have signed up for the service or who frequently visit our website, of some major incidents relevant to public notification or safety, such as an escape from the Pitchess Detention Center.
SCV SHERIFF ALERTS is NOT an official warning or advisory system. Messages are NOT official instructions, permission or encouragement to take action. Members of the public should tune to and monitor a trusted local news outlet for verification and additional information following any SCV SHERIFF ALERT.
There is no guarantee as to the frequency, timeliness or accuracy of postings. Some information provided may change over time, and we strongly discourage speculation.
IMPORTANT: When an SCV SHERIFF ALERT is initiated, there may be a high volume of messages (and multiple updates of key details) for the benefit of news media using this system.
